All postdoctoral training programs that are a part of TUMEC, while members of this education consortium, are operated as independent internship and residency training programs by the affiliated hospital which holds responsibility for the legal operation of the program. Each program must ascribe to the standards of the AOA for postdoctoral training and operates under the approved policies of the consortium.
The training programs have been accredited by the AOA and the endorsement of TUMEC, through which the administrative aspects of the internships and residencies are coordinated.
All local issues and questions regarding specific programs should be first be addressed to the Program Director and/or the Director of Medical Education; TUMEC staff will participate in the routine affairs of the individual program as necessary to represent the AOA in matters of accreditation and consortium-wide issues.
