A resident, with the approval of the program director, may petition the specific Education and Evaluating Committee of the specialty college for advanced standing credit towards the completion of his/her current residency program for previous residency training taken in the same specialty area, or a different area in either an approved osteopathic or ACGME training site.
The resident must follow the procedure outlined below to apply for advanced standing:
A. Provide a letter requesting consideration of previous training stating the location, specialty, and dates of training.
B. Submit a letter of support from his/her current program director.
C. Submit verified required statistical forms detailing the scope, volume and variety of cases that the resident was responsible for during training period.
